The government is about to require everybody (with a few caveats and exceptions) to purchase medical coverage for themselves as well as their children. People, whether they like it or not, are going to have to buy medical insurance like they have to buy insurance for the cars and drivers in the family. It’s something to get used to, and it was definitely contentious, but it’s in the reform that was passed by the Obama Administration in 2010. The legislation requires, plain and simple, for everybody to be insured, and what this will call for is people to start picking up the cost of premiums. Luckily, insurance companies already offer really cost effective, really cheap policies out there, just to get some sort of coverage. This should drastically reduce the amount and number of bankruptcies that currently plague the nation, which are all a result of extremely high medical bills from hospitals, pharmacies, and doctors.
