Cycling holidays in France are hugely popular these days. After all, it is the home of the world’s most famous bike race. But getting your bike over to France from UK can be a struggle. Suppose you want to take your bicycle on Eurostar’s London Paris Train. Are you out of luck? Luckily, the answer is no, if you can dismantle your bike so that the wheels, saddle, and handlebars are removed and then fit it all within a bicycle bag (and as long as the overall bag size is no more than that of a normal-sized suitcase), you can carry it on board as part of your allowable luggage. If you can dismantle a tandem bike to fit, then that’s allowable too.
Or, for an extra charge, you can reserve a place for your bike on the same train you’ll be on, or on a train departing before your trip. Whichever way you choose, your bicycle will be at your Eurostar destination within twenty-four fours after drop-off.
This service is available only on the London, Brussels, and Paris routes.
If you bike to the terminal, but then find you cannot take your bike on the train with you, bicycle parking is available at most Eurostar terminals, Paris and Lille being the exceptions.
